Hi all, I am Nicola of bridal design studio, Silver Sixpence In her Shoe and I create wedding headpieces, veils, finishing touches and wedding gifts based around sweet nostalgic wedding traditions, such as garters and lucky horseshoes. I'm most known for my vintage inspired but modern bridal pieces for the quirkier stylish bride, be it an oversized bow veil, a statement headband or a delicately beaded clip. I delight in old traditions and ensure that they are reflected in little thoughtful touches in my designs – a single blue pearl embellishment for your something blue or a delicate lace collar restored to create a headpiece as your something old. I love to create the heirlooms of the future, designed to be loved at first sight and cherished forever. If you prefer something bespoke I am well versed in this too often re purposing past generations' veils and jewels to have a more modern edge for today’s brides or designing something completely bespoke to your needs.  Every single one of my pieces is handmade to order by me in my Manchester based studio for the most personal of bridal accessories. My business was born from a love of making my own wedding headpiece and veil, an addiction to haberdashery and wanting to be my own boss in something creative after 10 years in the fashion buying industry.
