Personalised has become the buzzword of the moment and no less in the world of weddings. At a time when there is so much choice- don’t even start me on how much of your day can be spent on pintrest in the planning stages, people are definitely turning to personalisation as a way to make their day stand out and to create meaning. While this can be quite an easy thing to achieve in certain areas, like invitations, decor styling or your actual ceremony it can be tricky in others. Here are some ideas on how you can achieve personalised wedding accessories Personalising with heirloom jewellery

Sentimental touches like a piece of jewellery can be a great starting point. I always ask my bespoke brides who come for an appointment if they have anything they would like to use. My Persephone Birdcage Veil is a wonderful option for this if you are buying online - a single piece of heirloom jewellery can be incorporated in for a real personal touch. It doesn’t have to be an expensive antique- it can be costume jewellery. As long as it means something to you.

Above is also my bride Samantha who brought me a tiny pendant from her sadly no longer with her auntie - she had a bespoke version of my Fiona headband with the precious jewels incorporated in

Repurposing a veil or dress

Repurposing the material or details from a family member's wedding dress, veil or accessories is another wonderful way to personalise and my favourite kind of project! See Sophie below in her upcycled version of her very own mum's 1980s floral circlet. We also repurposed the excess into some lovely bridesmaid combs and buttonholes for members of the bridal party so nothing was wasted. There are many different ways I have personalised and repurposed people's family heirlooms over the years- you can get in touch with me here to discuss your project

And finally, actual personalisation

But what if what you want is literal personalisation? Your name and date sealed in time forever. My lucky wedding horseshoes are a lovely tradition making a big comeback alongside this rising sentimentality. They can all be personalised with names and dates of your wedding. many of my products offer name boxes too

Why not hang your horseshoe in your house afterwards as a lasting memento, bringing luck into your home.

I have even used shoes from peoples own horses for this very thing. You can get in touch here
